HONORARY OFFICER POST VACANCIES

March 2010

At the end of the calendar year 2010, a number of positions among the Society’s Honorary Officers become vacant, as Professor Matthew Cragoe and Professor Jon Parry step down as Honorary Director of Communications and Honorary Treasurer respectively. Dr Ian Archer will continue as Literary Editor, but the responsibilities of that post which relate to the Bibliography of British and Irish History will now be separated out and a new position created, Honorary Academic Editor (BBIH).

We would be pleased to receive suggestions from you as regards suitable candidates for each of the posts. The Society is hugely dependent on the goodwill and dedication of its honorary officers, each of whom by their service makes a major contribution to the profession as well as to the Society.

RHS Council has appointed Search Committees for the posts. Individuals interested in knowing more or who have suggestions to make of names of suitable candidates should contact the Chairs of those Search Committees:

Professor Margot Finn (for the Honorary Treasurer post: m.c.finn@warwick.ac.uk )

Mr Richard Fisher (for the Honorary Director of Communications and Honorary Academic Editor (BBIH) posts: rfisher@cambridge.org )

If you have other enquiries about the process, please feel free to contact the President on c.d.h.jones@qmul.ac.uk
